.When Donna Hogue asked me to write
the foreword for her book of devotionals, An
Oasis Moment, I said, “Yes, I’d be glad to do
so.” When my husband was pastor of Christian Life
Center in Stockton, California, Donna Hogue was a
great blessing to us. She became one of my
right-hand ladies, whom I could always count on to
be faithful. She was not only faithful, but she did
things first class. She went beyond the call of duty
and helped in many areas of God’s work.
In October 1991, the KYCC radio
station had a visitation from God, and the ladies
were a part of that day, which I call a Holy
Ghost Explosion. We were, at the time, having
great ladies’ prayer
meetings, and
many miracles were being done by the mighty hand of
God. Shortly after this all-day visitation where
many miracles had occurred, the director of the
station asked if the ladies would bring the prayer
team to the station so they could air an hour of
prayer. I said yes, and from that day until December
2001, I was director of this program where many
miracles occurred. |

The Hour of Prayer consisted of my reading
Scriptures and commenting on them. Listeners would telephone
or email their requests. Then, as we would pray for the
needs, music was played in the background. It was a glorious
hour of anointing, power, and deliverance.
When my husband was elected General
Superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church
International, we were required to give up the pastorate of
Christian Life Center. I also had to give up being director
of the Prayer Hour, and that meant that someone had to take
my place. The lady who had helped me and was the most
faithful was Donna Hogue. God was preparing her for this
job, even when we did not know it.
She stepped in and has been faithful for the
last four years. The following is an excerpt from a recent
email she sent to me: “Like I mentioned, you are the
reason I am writing this. Who would have known that over ten
years ago when I first started answering phones for the
Prayer Hour, and then helping you, that it would end up like
this? It has been a great season in my life and I’m so
appreciative.”
During those four years, she would use a theme and
end with a devotional. After two years of doing this [using
different resources], the thought came to her that she
should have different women working together to compile a
daily devotional. Some of the things she used on the program
are included in this book along with many personal
experiences. She has joined with over eighty ladies
bringing together different subjects to give you a resource
of good, uplifting thoughts that are based on God’s Word and
true-to-life experiences. It will be a book that you will
want to have in your library, and one that will be a daily
blessing to you.
May you be blessed as you open the pages of this
book, which is the effort of a faithful lady who is a jewel
in God’s kingdom! Donna Hogue is a great lady. Your life
will be positively affected by her creation of thoughts.
